***This Reader Reward is no longer accepting entries – See the winner below.***

We're very happy to announce the winner of our Reader Reward for a $100 Father's Day gift card to The Home Depot. Congratulations to ashley, a reader from Cleveland, who'll be celebrating Father's Day with a trip to see the Indians play. I can't think of anything much better for Father's Day. We hope she'll stop back and share the useful project(s) this great Father's Day gift card assisted with!

Thanks to everyone for entering, and sharing all of your plans. We enjoyed reading what the weekend has in store.

It's reader reward time again! In honor of Father's Day we're giving one of our lucky readers a $100 gift card to The Home Depot.

If you remember, we did a similar reader reward about a month ago for Mother's Day. We absolutely loved hearing all of your plans on how you planned to celebrate the day. Though Mother's Day is an extremely important event to celebrate, we obviously can't leave all of the DIY Dads out of the mix on their important day. So we want to hear about all of the cool and extremely manly events you have planned.

Are you taking in a baseball game? Maybe grilling out? Or perhaps you'll put on your tool belts and work on a few house projects? (I think that's how Lulu will be celebrating with me).

No matter your plans, we're hoping to jump start your Father's Day celebration with this Reader Reward gift card giveaway.

Much like they did for Mother's day, The Home Depot wants to make your Father's Day celebrations a little easier. The Home Depot gives Dads the opportunity to use these gift cards to earn their “man card” with Lithium Ion power tools, tool kits, grills or sheds. They are perfect for a DIY Dad.

This week we're giving one lucky reader the chance to treat your Dad (or a special Dad in your life) to a shopping spree to help him earn his "man card." Here's how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: A $100 gift card to The Home Depot
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Tuesday, June 12th at 11:59pm EST.
  • AND THE WINNER IS: One lucky winner will be chosen by random.org and announced on Wednesday, June 13th, so be sure to come back then to see if you're the winner.
  • PRIZE REDEEMABLE: The Home Depot gift card can be used toward the purchase of merchandise at homedepot.com and any of The Home Depot stores.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DAD YOU RULE!”, and tell us a little bit about your plans for celebrating this Father's Day. (One entry per household.) We'd also love it if you would "like" us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter, but that's not mandatory.
  • WHO'S ELIGIBLE: This Reader Reward is open to residents of the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Add a personal touch to any special occasion with The Home Depot gift cards. Choose from dozens of unique designs or customize one online with your own photo and message.

If you'd like more information on purchasing a gift card you can find it at the following links.

Please see our complete terms & conditions page for more details.

The Home Depot Disclosure Statement

The Home Depot partnered with bloggers such as us to help promote their gift cards. As part of this promotion, I received a gift card to share with my readers. They did not tell me what to purchase or what to say about the products. The Home Depot believes that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. The Home Depot’s policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations. The winner of this giveaway will be randomly chosen and gift card fulfillment will be handled by a third party.

I am your biggest fan. Miss you guys. If you are ever in New Bern ....come see us. Thanks for taking care of my children for 3 years

DAD YOU RULE!!! We have an annual tradition started back before I can remember. My dad slaves over the grill all morning to make perfectly slow-cooked honey mustard chicken. SO GOOD!
6/8/2012 at 9:48 AM
DAD YOU RULE! No plans yet but knowing my dad we'll be doing yard work, washing cars, and then grilling steaks.
6/8/2012 at 9:54 AM

This will be my first father's day so what a treat it would be to win a gift card to the place I make at least 2 trips a week to! We will be relaxing on a long weekend out of state. The real gift will be if my 5 month old daughter decides to sleep through the night from 7pm-4:30am - so even if I don't win, maybe send some good vibes my way for that to happen!

Love the blog!

HA! What shall we do to celebrate the "DAD YOU RULE" Day? Find a new home improvement project. Seriously, we haven't done enough :)

Hope you two celebrate it in the same fashion! :)
6/8/2012 at 10:18 AM
DAD YOU RULE! I haven't yet figured out what I'll be doing for my dad for Father's Day. We live far apart, so won't actually be together for the day.
6/8/2012 at 10:40 AM

My Dad's 60th birthday falls on Father's Day this year, so we'll be celebrating my dad TWICE.
6/8/2012 at 11:16 AM

I'll be sending my dad a card (I live across the country from them), along with a gift card to some manly-ish store
6/8/2012 at 11:44 AM

I'll be grilling up some shish kabobs and hanging out with my 3 wonderful kids. If there's any time leftover, I'll work on refinishing the piano that's taking up a lot of real estate in the garage...
6/8/2012 at 12:21 PM

My plan is to distract my 3 year old in the morning so that my husband can sleep in. Later on, my family will congregate at my inlaw's house for dinner.
6/8/2012 at 1:29 PM
Just a phone call to my dad, especially since it is also my birthday weekend.
6/8/2012 at 1:30 PM

I'll be playing a round of golf with my goddaughter's dad then hopefully putting the finishing touches on a wine nook/wet bar project (and of course, then testing the wine nook/wet bar).
6/8/2012 at 1:32 PM
My dad was never the handiest guy, but he worked very, very hard at his job at the railroad. Now that he is close to 88, I have taken over a lot of his jobs and I can think of a number of things we can spend that money on together. I would be thrilled to win and do some projects with my great dad.
6/8/2012 at 1:35 PM

How nice that I read the rules AFTER my comment. We will probably have a bar-b-q for the old fellow and sit outside and watch the turkeys and the grass grow. Very laid back, maybe some naps, too.
6/8/2012 at 2:04 PM

Not sure what the plans are yet...whatever Dad wants to do!

Since I don't live anywhere near him, I'm gonna call him and listen to him ramble on and on about the weather! :)
6/8/2012 at 2:38 PM
Dad, you rule!

We'll be hanging out together...and who knows! Maybe even do a house project together!!
6/8/2012 at 2:59 PM
Dad, you rule! Not sure what we are doing, but it probably involves grilling out and swimming.
6/8/2012 at 3:44 PM
Dad you rule! NO special plans but a shopping trip for a fun new tool would be great!

Dad you rule!
We're hoping to get away to the beach for a weekend with the kiddos!

Dad, you rule! My dad passed away many years ago, and my son is now the 'dad' in my life.

When I was growing up, I was the kid that followed dad around, handed tools, held boards or wires or whatnot. If I can be called 'handy' at all, it's because of my dad. When my son was little, he followed my dad and my husband around the same way.

Now my little grandson is my helper and his daddy's. If I win the drawing, I'll share with my son - we are both working on our houses, as you guys know.

We will be grilling out. I'm making a big pot of 'from scratch' baked beans in a proper brown pottery pot and coleslaw. The Boyz are providing grilling meat (not sure what), corn on the cob and watermelon.
6/9/2012 at 12:34 AM

I'll be running to my parents' house to cook out with my dad and celebrate in style.

My dad lives about 8 hours away but he'll totally get a Father's Day phone call!
6/9/2012 at 7:37 AM
Dad, you rule!

Strangely enough, my kids were invited to a birthday party on Father's Day, so we'll be doing that for a few hours! But we'll be celebrating my husband and stepdad with a nice dinner the evening before.

Not sure what our Father's Day plans are yet, but based on past Father's Day celebrations, I'm sure it will involve food!
6/9/2012 at 11:37 AM

My husband and I are about to have our first child, and he's already embraced the role of "Dad." I'm planning to let him know how much I appreciate everything he's already done to get ready for baby!

DAD YOU RULE! We always do something outdoors, this year it will be a canoe ride. Dad's day seems to coincide with a family birthday party every year and also this year a special graduation. It should be a great day!

I'm sending my dad a Father's Day card.

6/10/2012 at 4:55 PM
DAD YOU RULE! My father passed away a few of years ago, so I'll give a call to my mother who's been both mom and dad to me :)
6/11/2012 at 12:24 AM

My husband and I have pets only, not kids, so it's a low-key day for us. My husband is working because his coworkers are dads. And our pets (cats + 1 dog) will probably get crafty with me to surprise him! If we win this, it will be the pets' gift to my husband -- one of our cats was sickly when we adopted her and in her illness totally wrecked the carpet in one room of our house. This would be a boost to help defray our replacement expenses! :)
6/11/2012 at 9:23 AM
DAD YOU RULE! A happy father's day to my husband who will definately be working around the house that day since i work on Sundays! And also to my dad - whom i will see on Saturday - we'll all go for a nice lunch!

6/11/2012 at 12:43 PM
We'll probably go to dim sum and hang out with his one granddaughter(my niece)then at which point he'll prefer to go out with his friends
6/11/2012 at 1:29 PM

I think my dad will spend Father's Day helping to renovate my kitchen. At least that's the hope. :)

6/11/2012 at 2:15 PM

I sadly won't be seeing my dad on Father's Day since we live about 9 hours apart. So I'll give him a call and probably spend the day being lazy since I have no plans this weekend!

DAD YOU RULE! We'll be doing what we ALWAYS do ...driving to Richmond to hang out with my husband's Dad (mine is sadly not around anymore). I always feel a little sorry for my husband because he has never been able to do what he wants to do on Father's Day. My gift to my children will be insisting they NOT visit us on Mother's and Father's Day once they have kids of their own. And dogs count as kids, in my book.
