You may not have been able the tell over the past few week's posts, but Wendy and I enjoy our holidays. We try to go all out while maintaining some semblance of moderation. So while you may not see thousands of strands of Christmas lights set to music (trust me, Wendy won't let me, I've tried), we make every attempt to display our love of Christmas through more traditional means, like a tree or mantel, and go all out on those.

Last weekend we took a handful of photos of our various decorations that we want to share with you. I think they do a good job of showing our home's holiday spirit.

The first photo is of our living room. It's a bright and comfortable place during the day...

...and is even more enjoyable during the evening. This is where Wendy and I have our stockings hung since it is our only working fireplace. Gotta give Santa easy access to leave us our goodies.

No decoration wrap up is complete without a little focus on the actual wrapped presents. We have quite a few friends and family to buy for and we spend a lot of time wrapping all of the gifts to make sure they know we care. Once we're done wrapping we set them all under the tree so we can appreciate them before we actually hand them out. Here's an example of our typical wrapping job (the bows are 100% Wendy's handiwork).

The way we have our tree situated means you can see it from three of the four rooms on the first floor. So the view from our dining room is just as nice.

Having a red dining room pops just a little more this time of year.

We have a few more smaller decorations around the rest if the house, like bubbly night lights and little trees. But we tend to focus more of our time on the outdoor decorations. Sure, we covered them at length in a different post, but here's a final shot of our little home's exterior.

When the lights are out the candles in the window are a glow. They make the house seem so much more inviting.

Sure our house is nothing too grand, but we try our best to do as much as we can with what we have to work with...within reason. But trust me, if I can figure out a way to work 25,000 imported Italian twinkle lights into the outdoor decor of our home, I surely will.

Just sayin...

Just gorgeous! I love your house. And your placement of your Christmas tree gives me ideas for next year as we have a similar setup with our living room / dining room areas.

I adore your red and white transfer collection arrangement! i have both red and brown tw in collection at the moment. i saw a neat arrangement using the small transferware butter plates, arranged in a seashell spiral type cicular patternon a wall, so i've been looking for those little plates now.they are light enough that you can use the two sided sticky tape. enjoy your new home!
